Gal Gadot has opened up about the commercial performance of Disney’s Snow White and addressed rumors of a strained relationship with her co-star, Rachel Zegler.

In a recent appearance on the Israeli television show The A Talks, Gadot expressed her enjoyment during the filming process. “I really enjoyed filming that movie, I really had fun,” she stated. “Even working alongside Rachel Zegler. We laughed and we talked, we had fun. I was positive the movie was going to be a huge hit. But then Oct. 7 happened, and what followed across various industries was significant pressure on celebrities and creators to speak out against Israel. This affected the film. I was disappointed by the box office results, but sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose.”

As the film industry continues to navigate public sentiment and complex geopolitical issues, Gadot’s comments highlight the impact these factors can have on a project’s reception. She elaborated further: “I can always provide context about the situation in Israel, but ultimately, the audience will form their own opinions. It was disheartening to see the movie so adversely impacted by those events.”

During her candid discussion, Gadot also touched upon the ongoing calls for solidarity regarding the conflict and explained her decision to refrain from wearing a yellow ribbon pin to the Golden Globes, symbolizing support for hostages. “There are numerous considerations when attending such events, and wearing the pin didn’t feel appropriate at that moment. I recognize it may have been a misstep,” she shared.

Additionally, Gadot reflected on challenges she faced while filming in London, where she encountered protests targeted at her personally, stating that the experience was both isolating and difficult.

In the current climate, Gadot emphasized her sense of security while in Israel, despite ongoing challenges. “I feel safest here, amidst everything. The complexities of being Israeli abroad have grown considerably. I require security when working outside of my home country,” she noted.

The dialogue about the film and its context continues to unfold, revealing the intricate balance between artistry and activism in today’s entertainment landscape.
