The Amazing Spider-Man has long stood as a cornerstone of comic book history, yet for many enthusiasts, its newspaper strip counterpart remains one of the most cherished formats. After a prolonged absence from print, that will soon change with the collaboration between Marvel and Clover Press.
Currently, Clover Press has launched a crowdfunding camxxpaign for its highly-anticipated collections of The Amazing Spider-Man Newspaper Strip. This initiative has garnered attention, particularly as IGN debuts exclusive artwork of the slipcase covers for all four volumes. Below is a glimpse of the covers:

The Amazing Spider-Man newspaper strip made its debut in 1977, originally penned by the legendary Stan Lee, with illustrations by John Romita, Sr. Following Romita’s departure in 1981, various artists—including Larry Lieber, Stan Lee’s brother—contributed to the series. The strip maintained a consistent run until 2019, operating outside the monthly comic’s continuity and notably introducing readers to the marriage of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson.
These new editions from Clover Press will publish the newspaper strip in chronological order, with each volume encapsulating a year from 1977 to 1980. Each tome is designed in a landscape format of 11″ x 8.5″, while the accompanying slipcases provide a vertical arrangement for convenient storage.
Hank Kanalz, Publisher at Clover Press, expressed enthusiasm regarding the release: “The Library of American Comics previously remastered this strip, but many of those volumes are now out of print, making them highly coveted and difficult for average fans to acquire. Now, with Clover Press and The Library of American Comics, we are reissuing these collections in a more accessible softcover format! We’re excited to compile the strip by year, reprinting every installment from January 1 to December 31. We can’t wait to bring these iconic comic strips to Spidey enthusiasts everywhere!”
The crowdfunding campaign for The Amazing Spider-Man Newspaper Strip is actively seeking support, while individual volumes are set to hit bookstores in 2026.
