The culmination of a beloved superhero saga is on the horizon for collectors and fans alike, as Marvel and Tsuburaya Productions announce the conclusion of the latest Ultraman comic series. Following five impactful years since its inception, The Fall of Ultraman is set to be released on February 11, 2026.
According to ComicsBeat, the first issue of The Fall of Ultraman will serve as the grand finale to the comic series that began with The Rise of Ultraman in 2020. During this time, the iconic Japanese hero has been expertly reimagined for a Western audience and has even seen crossover events, such as the Ultraman x The Avengers series released last year. Creators Kyle Higgins and Mat Groom return to steer the narrative towards its epic conclusion.

The heroes of Ultraman have faced interdimensional threats, uncovered monumental conspiracies, and battled colossal Kaiju throughout their journey. However, as a larger cosmic peril looms, fans are left questioning the fate of their savior. What formidable force will challenge Ultraman? Will the United Science Patrol reclaim their honor? And can Earth withstand the continuous threats it faces? These questions tease the conclusion as fans gear up for a climactic finale.
In a recent press release, Higgins reflected on his tenure with Ultraman, stating, “It’s been one of the great honors of my career to spend the last five years helping bring a new interpretation of Ultraman to Western comic book readers. Getting to play even a small part in expanding such a timeless, heroic mythology has meant the world to me.”
Higgins also expressed gratitude towards colleagues who contributed to the success of Ultraman across Marvel, acknowledging figures such as C.B. Cebulski and Tom Brevoort, along with crediting his collaborative partner, Mat Groom, as integral to the series’ development.

As they prepared for the finale, Groom confided that the conclusion had always been a part of their initial vision for the series. “Our very first version of the initial pitch for The Rise of Ultraman included an outline of how the saga would end,” he shared. “Now, five years later, that end is here, and it comes bearing the same title as it did in that first outline: The Fall of Ultraman. While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to Shin, Kiki, Dan, and the rest of the Ultra Guard, we’re grateful for the opportunity to provide them with a fitting send-off and to challenge Ultraman in a way that honors his legacy. For fans who have followed us from Rise to Fall, thank you — we hope you enjoy the finale!”
The Fall of Ultraman #1 arrives on February 11, 2026, from Marvel Comics, marking a significant moment in the collector landscape and an opportunity for enthusiasts to celebrate this iconic character’s journey.
