The upcoming First Saturday In May (FSIM) event, a new initiative led by Titan Comics alongside prominent publishers like Vault, Mad Cave, Reckah, and AWA, represents a notable evolution in how comic book releases are approached, especially after Free Comic Book Day transitions.

According to Bleeding Cool, Titan Comics is set to deliver exclusive titles in May 2026, including Gun Honey Doubles Down #0 by Charles Ardai and Ace Continuado, along with Conan: Tides Of The Tyrant King #0 by Jim Zub and Jesus Marino. This move follows Universal Distribution’s acquisition of rights to Free Comic Book Day from Diamond Comic Distributors, leading various publishers to explore new opportunities under the FSIM banner. Notably, Mad Cave Studios is set to release reprint editions of Flash Gordon and Terrorbytes. Meanwhile, AWA will feature an excerpt from an undisclosed graphic novel by high-profile creators, and Rekcah will introduce a new annual issue in their The Future Is ****** series crafted by Fred Van Lente and Juan Gedeon. Additionally, Vault Comics will showcase the debut of Dungeon Keeper Carl by Matt Dinniman, Tevagah, and Laurel Pursuit Studio, as well as Inanna: The Name She Lost #0 by Inanna Sarkis, Tim Seeley, and Ademir Leal. A key differentiator for this initiative is that retailers must order these titles in bulk, with yet-to-be-confirmed pricing.
