Story Kitchen is in the works on a feature film adaptation of Madison, the psychological horror video game that has captivated gamers since its release. The Los Angeles-based production company, known for adapting video games for both film and television, has secured a deal with Bloodious Games to bring this haunting story to the big screen.
As of now, details surrounding casting, a director, a screenwriter, and a release date remain undisclosed, and the project is also without a distribution partner. However, Story Kitchen aims for a theatrical release.
About the Game
Released in 2022, Madison follows the story of Luca Maxwell, a teenager who receives an instant camera as a birthday gift. This seemingly innocent present quickly spirals into a nightmare as Luca discovers that the camera is possessed by a demon, compelling him to partake in a murderous ritual initiated decades ago by a satanic serial killer named Madison.
To survive, players must navigate a series of puzzles using the camera, all while attempting to break free from a cycle of violence and madness. The game has received numerous accolades, including the grand prize for Best Narrative at the NYX Game Awards and Best Game at EVA 2022. Additionally, Bloodious Games has released an immersive virtual reality version, further enhancing the game’s chilling atmosphere.
