Hold on tight, spider-monkey — Twilight fans are about to be able to relive the epic love triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob on the big screen.

The official social media accounts for Lionsgate, which acquired Twilight production company Summit Entertainment in 2012, announced that all five films in the franchise are set to return to theaters this October. The announcement was accompanied by a graphic featuring stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, alongside the caption: “Forever Begins Again.”

Although specific dates have yet to be disclosed, Lionsgate teased fans by stating, “Tomorrow” in the caption, suggesting that further details will be released shortly.

The Twilight film series, adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novels, centers on the tumultuous love affair between Bella Swan and Edward Cullen as Bella navigates the complexities of a relationship with a vampire, all while dealing with rival attractions from werewolves and other supernatural threats.

Debuting with a modest budget, the first film, Twilight, released on November 21, 2008, exceeded box office expectations, grossing over $408 million worldwide. This commercial success catapulted Stewart, Pattinson, and Lautner to international stardom and established a dedicated fanbase that would later generate extensive online content including memes and fan art. Overall, the franchise amassed over $3.3 billion globally across its five films, which include Twilight (2008), New Moon (2009), Eclipse (2010), Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011), and Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012).

Additionally, the series included talented actors such as Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Justin Chon, Anna Kendrick, Michael Welch, Christian Serratos, and Sarah Clarke.

As the years pass, the Twilight Saga continues to resonate within pop culture, inspiring countless memes and regular rewatches among its devoted followers. An animated series reboot is also in the works, presenting further opportunities to explore the franchise.

In a retrospective interview regarding the film’s ongoing relevance, director Catherine Hardwicke remarked in 2023, during the celebration of the first movie’s 15th anniversary, that the themes of first love and the intoxicating nature of romance continue to resonate, encapsulating a “head rush that makes you feel ecstatic.”
