Hello again, boils and ghouls! The Crypt Keeper is officially back.
AMC has given fans a closer look at the newly redesigned Crypt Keeper puppet, created by acclaimed makeup and special effects artist Greg Nicotero, ahead of the character’s return to television this October.
Even better for longtime Tales from the Crypt fans, John Kassir is returning as the unmistakable voice of the Crypt Keeper. The horror icon will serve as the host of AMC’s FearFest throughout October, bringing his signature macabre humor back to the Halloween season.
Nicotero, whose extensive horror work includes The Walking Dead franchise and countless practical-effects creations, also directed all of the new Crypt Keeper segments produced for FearFest.
The redesigned puppet retains the gruesome personality and recognizable features fans associate with the classic character while introducing an updated appearance for his return to television.
The Crypt Keeper’s FearFest takeover officially begins October 1, 2026, on AMC, kicking off a full month of horror programming.
For fans who grew up hearing that familiar cackle from the Crypt Keeper, October just got a little more frightening — and a lot more fun.
