In this narrative, astronaut Arch becomes embroiled in a hostile society of apes where humans occupy a subservient position. As the apes confront the Yautja hunters, a three-way struggle for dominance unfolds, blending the themes and complex mythologies of both universes. This series promises to engage both the action-packed allure of the Predator franchise and the philosophical undertones of Planet of the Apes.
Greg Pak reflects on his connection with the original films, noting how the series aligns with the bold storytelling that both franchises are known for. “I vividly remember watching the first Planet of the Apes movie on an old 13″ black and white television in the early 1980s and having my mind TOTALLY BLOWN,” he remarks. His enthusiasm for this crossover indicates a deep-seated reverence for the source material, which is sure to resonate with collectors of both properties.
Collectors should also keep an eye out for a suite of variant covers designed by Stonehouse, Tim Seeley, and Chris Campana, alongside a prelude featured in the Alien, Predator & Planet of the Apes Free Comic Book Day initiative on May 2nd. This prelude serves as an exciting opportunity for fans to engage with the storyline ahead of the series launch.
