Neve Campbell is officially returning as Sidney Prescott for Scream 8, marking another chapter for the franchise’s iconic star.
Campbell confirmed her involvement in the eighth installment during an interview with the Associated Press. While discussing several projects in development, the actress revealed that she has two television shows in the works, including one she has already sold, before adding, “Scream 8 — that’s in the pipeline as well.”
Campbell has been a central part of the Scream franchise since the original 1996 film. She starred in the first four installments of the horror series before returning for the 2022 revival, which shifted its focus to sisters Sam and Tara Carpenter, played by Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. Campbell appeared in a supporting role in that film.
The actress subsequently sat out 2023’s Scream VI but returned for Scream 7, which was released in February. The latest installment brought the story back to Sidney, this time focusing on her relationship with her daughter Tatum, played by Isabel May.
Scream 7 became the highest-grossing entry in the franchise, earning $208 million worldwide.
With Campbell now confirming her involvement, Sidney Prescott is set to return for another round with Ghostface. Further details about Scream 8, including its creative team, supporting cast, and release date, have yet to be announced.
