Hasbro Restructuring Hits Again as Fan & Event Marketing Manager Emily Bader Loses Position

Date:

Another round of restructuring appears to be hitting Hasbro, and once again employees further down the corporate ladder are feeling the impact.

Emily Bader, who held the position of Manager: Fan & Event Marketing Expert at Hasbro, announced on social media that her position was eliminated as part of the company’s latest restructuring. The timing comes just ahead of New York Comic Con, where Bader had apparently been expected to attend.

Bader wrote:

«“In light of NYCC next week, I wanted to let everyone know that my job was eliminated yesterday as part of Hasbro’s latest restructuring and I will not be attending the show.Thank you SO much to everyone for your support over the last six years – fans like you are the only reason we’ve been able to bring so many amazing projects to life over the years and we are so appreciative of all of you. I can’t believe how many brands I’ve gotten to work on and people that I’ve gotten to learn from over my Hasbro career.

Please continue to be kind to everyone who is still at Hasbro and working on your favorite brands – they’re wonderful humans and I have been so lucky to work alongside them.

Here’s to whatever comes next!”»

Bader’s departure is particularly noteworthy for collectors because fan marketing and convention appearances represent one of the most visible connections between Hasbro and the communities supporting brands such as Transformers, G.I. Joe, Marvel Legends and other collector-focused properties.

The Cost-Cutting Continues

Hasbro’s own 2026 financial reporting confirms that restructuring remains part of the company’s cost-saving strategy. During the first six months of 2026, Hasbro reported $13.7 million in restructuring and severance costs, describing those expenses as being associated with “cost-savings initiatives across the Company.”

The latest personnel changes also arrive during a period in which Hasbro has reported stronger financial performance. In July, the company announced second-quarter growth, record performance from Wizards of the Coast and an increase to its 2026 financial outlook.

That combination will inevitably raise questions among fans and employees about where the burden of corporate cost cutting is being placed.

From the collector perspective, it can be frustrating to watch the people directly interacting with fans and helping bring collector-focused projects and events to life lose their positions while restructuring continues.

Whatever comes next for Emily Bader, her message makes one thing clear: after six years at Hasbro, she remains appreciative of the fans and supportive of the employees still working on the brands collectors love.

Plastiq News wishes Emily the best in whatever comes next.
