A new original film is on the way from Disney.
During the Destination D23 event held in Orlando, Florida, Jared Bush, the Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, took to the stage to unveil the upcoming film titled Hexed.
Here’s a glimpse into the film’s premise: “Disney’s #Hexed is an all-new original film that follows an awkward teenage boy and his Type-A mom as they discover that his unusual traits may actually be magical powers that will turn their lives—and a hidden world of magic—upside down.”

Directors Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand are at the helm of this feature, with Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones serving as producers. The release date is set for November 2026.
Additionally, during the D23 event, Bush revealed exciting updates regarding Zootopia 2. The sequel to the beloved 2016 animated feature is set to continue the adventures of rookie cops Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman). Newly added cast members include Yvette Nicole Brown, who will portray the Bearoness and an EMT Otter, and Patrick Warburton, who joins as Mayor Winddancer.
The Zootopia 2 synopsis reads: “In Zootopia 2, rookie cops Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde find themselves on the trail of a major mystery involving Gary De’Snake (voiced by Ke Huy Quan) as he shakes up the animal metropolis. To solve the case, they must go undercover in unexpected parts of town, challenging their budding partnership like never before.” The sequel is slated for a theatrical release on November 26.
Be sure to keep an eye out for updates on both Hexed and Zootopia 2.
