ANAHEIM, CA — D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is officially underway, and the show floor is already delivering plenty for Disney, Pixar and Star Wars fans to talk about.
One of the biggest attention-grabbers is the first look at a life-sized Rotta the Hutt, giving Star Wars fans an up-close look at Jabba the Hutt’s son as Lucasfilm takes over its pavilion with displays, presentations and a packed schedule of programming throughout the weekend.Disney Animation is also looking toward the future. The Walt Disney Animation Studios pavilion is showcasing Hexed, which arrives in theaters November 25, 2026, along with an early look at Frozen 3, currently scheduled for November 2027.
Disney has officially listed Frozen 3 for November 24, 2027.
Pixar fans are getting something new as well, with a first look at Saverio, the pigeon sidekick from Pixar’s upcoming Gatto. The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters March 5, 2027.
The celebration has extended beyond the convention center. As part of D23 Day, voices behind several beloved Disney Princesses performed a special concert at Disney California Adventure. Meanwhile, Sorcerer Mickey is getting ready for another massive appearance as one of the balloons celebrating Macy’s 100th Thanksgiving Day Parade, with the balloon currently on display in Downtown Disney. Mickey’s history with the Macy’s parade stretches all the way back to 1934.
Over at Disney Consumer Products, the Lights, Camera, Sparkle! experience brings Mickey & Friends, Disney snacks, Stitch and Angel’s “Glitter Glide,” photo opportunities and merchandise together, with even more exclusives waiting at the nearby Disney Store pavilion.
And this is only the beginning. D23 runs August 14–16 in Anaheim, with Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and the Disney Parks all preparing more reveals and surprises throughout the weekend.
