Turtle Beach has unveiled the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded, an enhanced iteration of its modular pro-style controller designed for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox platforms. This revised version includes a freshly designed fighting game module, which Turtle Beach claims is “ergonomically optimized” to support players who prefer an arcade-style grip for finger-based gameplay.
While enthusiasts might still lean towards one of IGN’s top fight stick recommendations, the new Victrix controller certainly presents a viable alternative. The original Pro BFG has been recognized as one of the best controllers on the market due to its extensive customization features, a trend that continues with the BFG Reloaded model. Similar to its predecessor, the BFG Reloaded offers swappable components, including a reversible thumbstick and D-pad, alongside customizable options for thumbsticks and thumb caps. Additionally, it is equipped with drift-resistant Hall effect analog sticks. The rear triggers, also utilizing Hall effect sensors, allow for adjustable sensitivity and include four mappable back buttons.
The BFG Reloaded is released in two color options—black and white—and is available in versions tailored for the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One or PlayStation 5 and PS4. Notably, both models are also compatible with Windows devices. According to the company’s specifications, the controllers can provide up to 20 hours of gameplay on a full charge and feature a 30-foot wireless range. For those who prefer a wired connection, a 3-meter braided USB-C cable is included, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Despite notable improvements, the original Pro BFG was lacking in certain areas—specifically haptics and adaptive triggers. Unfortunately, Turtle Beach’s recent press materials have not indicated any such enhancements in the BFG Reloaded, which is disappointing given that its price point is nearly on par with the haptic-enabled Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra. The latter is a familiar name on both our best Xbox controllers and best PC controllers lists.
The Pro BFG Reloaded is currently available for preorder at a price of $209.99, which marks an increase from the original Pro BFG’s price of $199.99. The North American launch is set for September 28th, while gamers in the UK (£179.99) and EU (€199.99) can purchase the controller today.
