The TCM Classic Film Festival is set to return to Hollywood for its 17th edition, scheduled from April 30 to May 3, 2026. This year’s theme, “The World Comes to Hollywood,” aims to honor the immigrant pioneers who significantly contributed to the cinematic arts, as revealed in a recent announcement.
Films featured at the festival will celebrate the “gifted and vital artists, innovators, and craftsmen who immigrated to Hollywood to shape and enhance the landscape of cinema, producing timeless masterpieces that are now part of our cultural heritage,” according to TCM.
TCM chief programming officer Charlie Tabesh stated, “For over three decades, Turner Classic Movies has acted as stewards of classic film. In this year’s festival, we are shining a light on the rich history and creative contributions of the early visionaries who established the pathways to Hollywood. We are curating an extraordinary lineup of films and presentations to honor the multicultural influences and innovations of our industry’s origins, and we eagerly anticipate celebrating with our audience.”
Additionally, the festival’s official hotel and central hub will again be the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the venue for the inaugural Academy Awards ceremony in 1929. Passes will go on sale in December, with the lineup of films and honorees anticipated in the forthcoming weeks.
Many anticipations remain, such as the inclusion of films by legendary directors like Billy Wilder, Ernst Lubitsch, Michael Curtiz, Fritz Lang, and Alfred Hitchcock. To learn more about the festival, watch the promo here.
