According to a press release from Mad Cave Studios, the publisher’s children’s imprint, Papercutz, will unveil a new Speed Racer series designed specifically for young readers. The graphic novel Speed Racer Adventures Vol. 1, created by the team of Franco and Derek Charm, is scheduled for release on April 28, 2026. Speed Racer has been a staple of pop culture since its inception in 1966 with Tatsuo Yoshida’s original Mach GoGoGo manga. Initially featured in Shōnen Book, Mach GoGoGo introduced the beloved cast that has shaped the broader Speed Racer franchise. Over the decades, the franchise has undergone numerous remakes across various media, ranging from comics and animated series to a high-profile live-action film in 2008.
Speed Racer Adventures Vol. 1 is the latest addition to a growing collection of Speed Racer titles from Mad Cave Studios. In June, the publisher showcased their fresh interpretation of the franchise with the release of Speed Racer #1, penned by acclaimed writer David Pepose and illustrated by the popular artist Davide Tinto. The synopsis for this issue reveals the thrilling underground races Speed Racer participates in—where the stakes are high and the rules are non-existent.
