Ramen Toy and Factory Entertainment Unveil 1:12 Scale K.I.T.T. at Recent Showcase

Ramen Toy recently hosted a broadcast to share updates on their ongoing projects and upcoming event appearances. The highlight of the event was a major collaborative announcement with Factory Entertainment, revealing a highly detailed, feature-rich 1:12 scale model of K.I.T.T. from the classic 1980s television series Knight Rider .

The Big Reveal: 1:12 Scale Knight Rider K.I.T.T.

The second half of the stream featured Barry Eldridge, Creative Director at Factory Entertainment, who joined Ace from Ramen Toy to announce their joint venture: an officially licensed 1:12 scale model of K.I.T.T. .

Barry described the project as a labor of love, stating, “This is the kit you wanted back in the 80s that you never got.” He emphasized the synergy between the two companies, noting, “Factory is just fans who want to make stuff for other fans… we met you and immediately it was obvious that we were simpatico” .

Key Features of the 1:12 Scale K.I.T.T.

The upcoming K.I.T.T. model boasts an impressive array of features designed to delight fans of the series:

•Super Pursuit Mode (SPM): The vehicle can transform into SPM. While some parts deploy automatically, others require manual adjustment to keep the price accessible .

•Electronics: The model features extensive lighting, including the iconic sweeping red “Larson scanner” on the front, pop-up headlights, fog lights, brake lights, and a fully illuminated dashboard console .

•Audio: It includes digital sound effects sourced directly from Universal Studios. The team is actively trying to secure the rights to use the original voice of K.I.T.T. (William Daniels), though the iconic theme music will likely not be included due to complex licensing issues .

•Remote Control: The electronic features (lights, sounds, SPM deployment) are operated via a remote control uniquely shaped like a miniature K.I.T.T. .

•Mechanics: Features front-wheel steering and full working suspension .

•Included Figure: Comes with a fully articulated 6-inch Michael Knight figure designed to fit inside the vehicle. The figure will not include a gun, adhering to the character’s portrayal in the show .

•Other Details: Opening doors, hood, and trunk, a rotating license plate, and a removable roof panel .

Pricing and Availability

Pre-orders for the 1:12 scale K.I.T.T. are scheduled to open in June 2024. While an exact price was not finalized, both Ace and Barry confirmed it will be under $500. It will be a worldwide release, with Factory Entertainment handling distribution for the Americas and Europe, and Ramen Toy handling Asia and other regions .

The team also hinted at the possibility of releasing other versions, such as K.A.R.R. or a damaged “acid bath” variant, depending on the success of this initial release .

Before the big reveal, Ace outlined Ramen Toy’s busy upcoming event schedule, which includes appearances at the Beijing Hobby Expo, Hong Kong Gifts and Premiums Expo, Shizuoka Hobby Show, Licensing Expo Vegas, MOTUniverse show, Hong Kong Comic Con, and JoeFest .
