Lucy Joins Guilty Gear Strive as DLC Character with Quickhacking Abilities from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Guilty Gear Strive Lucy Character

During the Evo 2025 fighting game tournament, Guilty Gear Strive developers Arc System Works unveiled the first look at Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, confirming her release as a DLC character scheduled for August 21.

Lucy is set to be the final playable character in Strive’s Season Pass 4, derived from the acclaimed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Netflix series, which gained popularity alongside CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077. Players familiar with the game will instantly notice the inclusion of hacking mechanics showcased in the gameplay trailer below.

In gameplay, time pauses as Lucy engages her Quickhacks, which include options like Algorithm Malfunction, Optics Inhibition, and Energy Siphon, utilizing Cyberdeck Ram similarly to how players would in Cyberpunk 2077.

Viewers witness her opponent suffering from the hacking debuffs, indicated by familiar icons reminiscent of those from Cyberpunk 2077, which appear to dissipate relatively quickly.

With Lucy’s introduction, one may ponder whether this signifies the conclusion of DLC for Guilty Gear Strive. However, four years post-launch, Arc System Works has hinted that more content is on the horizon. In a recent tweet, they announced, “Guilty Gear Strive will continue… we look forward to your continued support.”

This tweet accompanied a video revealing that Guilty Gear Strive has attracted 3.5 million players since its launch. Additionally, it announced the forthcoming Guilty Gear Strive 2.00, set to arrive in 2026. The specifics of gameplay enhancements are still under wraps, but fans are buzzing with anticipation, especially as the video hinted at the introduction of two new characters, speculated to be Robo-Ky and Jam Kuradoberi.
