Keanu Reeves’ BRZRKR is set to dive into an all-new horror-infused maritime saga.
According to an exclusive first look from Entertainment Weekly, Reeves’ formidable immortal warrior, known simply as B, is set to re-emerge in comic book stores this November with the debut of BRZRKR: The Bleeding Tide #1. Co-written by Reeves alongside Marjorie Liu, and featuring artwork by Garry Brown, the new installment finds B resurrected from the ocean depths by a captain facing a grave threat from a horde of vampires.
The official solicitation synopsis for BRZRKR: The Bleeding Tide #1 from BOOM! Studios states: “Can B. quell the bleeding tide? When the Captain follows a strange heartbeat into the ocean’s abyss, she discovers a box imprisoned in iron chains — and the grotesque figure of the legendary warrior B. within. Now awakened, B. must leap into action to protect the crew from a maritime ambush, even as questions loom about the Captain’s motives. What secret bounty has put her in peril, and what is she concealing?”
Co-writer Marjorie Liu shared insights into the creative process behind BRZRKR: The Bleeding Tide, emphasizing, “The BRZRKR universe has always felt limitless to me, a realm where stark realism and the supernatural can intertwine in unforgettable ways. First introduced by Reeves and Matt Kindt, BRZRKR debuted in 2021 to widespread acclaim from both critics and fans. The principal series spanned twelve issues, chronicling the exploits of the half-god immortal warrior B as he undertook various black-ops missions for a duplicitous government, while seeking to unravel the mysteries of his origins and a solution to his eternal suffering. Since its launch, BRZRKR has expanded from a singular main comic series to encompass multiple one-shots, various spin-offs, a novel set in an alternate timeline, an upcoming feature film, and a Netflix anime adaptation.
BRZRKR: The Bleeding Tide #1 will be available from BOOM! Studios on November 26.
