Hasbro Pulse Star Wars Fanstream Reveals 2027 Vintage Collection and Black Series Figures

Hasbro Pulse used its latest Star Wars Fanstream to position 2027 as a “new era” for the brand, with meaningful updates across The Vintage Collection and The Black Series. The presentation revealed definitive new versions of R2-D2 and C-3PO, a Lothal Rebels three-pack, a six-film Black Series saga wave, and new 50th anniversary cardbacks.

There is an editorial caveat, though: this was billed as a reveal stream, but a substantial portion was devoted to packaging philosophy, photography, production conversations, and legacy discussion. That material may have worked better as a separate behind-the-scenes presentation. For collectors looking for the actual announcements, here is the useful part of the stream.

The Vintage Collection: R2-D2 and C-3PO

The first Vintage Collection reveal was a new “Make the Mains” pairing of R2-D2 and C-3PO. Hasbro described both as early prototypes rather than final samples, with the goal of bringing the characters closer to their on-screen proportions.

  • R2-D2 is shorter and more true to scale, with a retractable center leg and removable dome.
  • His restraining-bolt panel is removable and can be swapped for a plain panel.
  • C-3PO is taller than the previous release and includes a restraining bolt, molded gold finish, removable arm, and dented head detail.
  • R2-D2 is planned for wave one of 2027, while C-3PO is planned for wave two. Both are expected in spring 2027, with pre-orders coming later.

These are not the shiny special versions Hasbro teased for later, but the team said those versions remain in development. The new figures are being presented as the definitive mainline versions of two characters that anchor the entire Star Wars timeline.

HasLab Halo: Lothal Rebels three-pack

The Vintage Collection’s HasLab Halo update focuses on the Lothal Rebels crew: Sabine Wren, Kanan Jarrus, and Ezra Bridger. The set is intended to complete the season-one Ghost crew in 3.75-inch scale, and it marks Ezra’s first Vintage Collection figure.

Kanan includes Stormtrooper disguise pieces and lit and unlit lightsaber options, while Sabine and Ezra receive accessories tied to their animated appearances. Hasbro emphasized that the images shown are photo models made from 3D-printed and painted parts—not final production samples—so details can still change.

Pre-orders open October 7, 2026, at 1 p.m. ET. Hasbro said the set will be available through Fan Channel retailers and Amazon, with Hasbro Pulse also expected to participate.

Collectors can compare this announcement with our earlier coverage of The Vintage Collection’s Clone Wars additions and the LAAT/i Gunship HasLab release.

The Black Series 2027 Saga wave

The Black Series portion introduced a new packaging era, beginning with Queen Amidala from The Phantom Menace. Hasbro confirmed that the first 2027 wave will be a six-figure “Saga wave,” with one character representing each of the original six Star Wars films.

  • The Phantom Menace: Queen Amidala, a final-production figure with soft goods.
  • Attack of the Clones: Padawan Anakin Skywalker with a new portrait, updated costume elements, force-push hand, and swinging lightsaber effect.
  • Revenge of the Sith: Galactic Marine, a long-requested clone-era character with updated articulation and backpack details.
  • A New Hope: Luke Skywalker in his X-wing pilot outfit, rebuilt from the ground up with a flippable helmet visor.
  • The Empire Strikes Back: IG-88, upgraded with new lower legs, tubing, torso, arms, and weapon options.
  • Return of the Jedi: Tessek, better known to many fans as Squidhead, making his first appearance in the line with soft goods and flexible tentacles.

Hasbro described the wave as three all-new characters alongside three major upgrades. The mainline wave is scheduled to open for pre-order on October 15, 2026, at 1 p.m. ET, ahead of a spring 2027 release through Hasbro Pulse, Fan Channel retailers, Amazon, and other retailers.

Star Wars 50th anniversary cardbacks

The stream also previewed gold cardbacks tied to Star Wars’ 50th anniversary. The gold cardback version will be a mainline release planned for spring 2027, with pre-order details to come later. A cardback variant will be exclusive to Walmart, Target, and Disney Parks.
