G.I. Joe Duke Sells Out Instantly—Collectors Once Again Shut Out of Walmart Collector Con

Another day, another frustration for collectors during Walmart Collector Con March 2026.

The Walmart-exclusive G.I. Joe Classified Series Duke (Retro Cardback) went live earlier today through both Walmart and Hasbro Pulse, with Premium members receiving early access between 10:00–11:00am ET. Within minutes—if not seconds—the figure was completely sold out across both platforms.

Marketed as a limited release, Duke featured a patriotic red, white, and blue deco honoring First Sergeant Conrad “Duke” Hauser’s legacy as a frontline leader. But for many collectors, the only thing they led today was a race to an “Out of Stock” screen.

This has become an all-too-familiar pattern. Year after year, Walmart Collector Con continues to frustrate fans with extremely limited inventory, bot-heavy checkouts, and near-instant sellouts. For many, the event feels less like a celebration of collecting and more like an exclusive VIP drop—one that everyday collectors rarely gain access to.

Even for those lucky enough to secure an order, another looming concern remains: cancellations. Walmart’s track record during these events has left collectors wary, as pre-orders are often canceled weeks or months later due to “inventory issues.”

At what point does this cycle change? And more importantly—will it?

Plastiq News will keep calling it like it is—because collecting shouldn’t feel like a losing battle.
