Industry veteran and producer of the acclaimed The Defenders streaming series, Jeph Loeb, has hinted at a potential reunion of Marvel’s Netflix superheroes within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). His comments have stirred excitement among fans eager for the return of Netflix’s iconic ensemble cast.

According to GamesRadar, Loeb reflected on his collaboration with Netflix and Marvel Television, which produced hit series such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones. He praised the creative teams fostering the success of these projects and teased possible new storylines for The Defenders, especially following the positive reception of Disney+’s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again, stating, “There are always more stories to tell.”
Loeb expressed his joy for the accomplishments of the various actors and crew involved in these series, noting, “I’m very happy for all my friends—actors, writers, directors, stunt folks, crew and everybody else who worked on all those shows and killed it—that they get to continue to honor those roles. I’m not sure if anything like that has happened before—particularly on two different networks.” Furthermore, he clarified the misconception surrounding the moniker of ‘Netflix heroes’, emphasizing that it was Marvel Television that was responsible for the creation, production, and execution of these shows.
The saga of Netflix’s Marvel series commenced in 2015 with the launch of Daredevil, which introduced audiences to Charlie Cox’s adaptation of the iconic superhero. The same year marked the debut of Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter, effectively setting the stage for one of television’s most significant crossovers. Following these, Luke Cage (2016), and Iron Fist (2017) further expanded the narrative universe, culminating in the ensemble series The Defenders, which concluded the overarching storyline in 2017. The Punisher, featuring Jon Bernthal, arrived shortly thereafter as the last Marvel Television installment produced for Netflix.
With Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 set to premiere in March, fans of the original Defenders series are eager to see Krysten Ritter reprise her role as Jessica Jones, thus continuing the momentum of Netflix’s beloved characters entering the MCU. As Ritter joins Cox’s Daredevil and Bernthal’s Frank Castle, Colter has also signaled openness to revisiting his portrayal of Luke Cage, stating, “I think there’s always time. I don’t think it’s impossible. Anything can happen.” This potential revival of Marvel’s Netflix legacy remains an encouraging prospect for fans, hinting that the story is far from over.
