Disney+ has officially greenlit an all-new animated Darkwing Duck series, bringing the masked crimefighter back for a new generation more than three decades after the original series debuted.
The new series features an impressive voice cast led by Mark Hamill as Drake Mallard/Darkwing Duck, with Seth Rogen as Launchpad McQuack, Lizzy Caplan as Gosalyn Mallard, Lilimar as Duckie, Dan Stevens as Glade McTowers, and Kathryn Newton as Firecracker.
The story finds Darkwing trapped for 35 years in an alternate world where no one remembers his superhero exploits. His life changes when rebellious teenager Duckie arrives with knowledge of his heroic past and pulls him back into action. Familiar enemies including Negaduck and Megavolt are also set to return.
Original Darkwing Duck creator Tad Stones is involved with the new series as a consultant.Disney+ has not yet announced a premiere date for the series.
