Transformers Day 2026 is here, and this year’s celebration carries some extra meaning for fans of the Autobots and Decepticons.
Hasbro is celebrating the third annual Transformers Day today, September 17, with a special tribute to legendary Optimus Prime voice actor Peter Cullen, alongside new collectibles, collaborations and global fan events.
The centerpiece is the return of the 1986 classic The Transformers: The Movie to theaters in a newly restored 4K presentation for its 40th anniversary.
Fans who stay through the credits will also experience Optimus Prime: Awakening, a new 12-minute animated short featuring Peter Cullen’s final original voice performance as Optimus Prime. Frank Welker also returns as Megatron and Soundwave.
Hasbro’s Transformers Day festivities also include new collectibles and collaborations, including Hot Wheels Transformers Bumblebee and a new Transformers capsule collection coming to Target featuring products from Hasbro, Super7, Blokees, Skybound Entertainment and others.
For Transformers fans, September 17 is shaping up to be a celebration of the franchise’s past, present and future — while honoring the unforgettable legacy of the man who gave Optimus Prime his voice.
