October 29 Marks a Significant Day for Supernatural Enthusiasts

Five years after the conclusion of Supernatural, which ended its groundbreaking run on television, the franchise is making a triumphant return with a brand new comic book series. The inaugural issue will hit the shelves on October 29, just in time for the Halloween season.

Fresh details have been revealed regarding the new Supernatural comic series, which will be published by Dynamite Entertainment. The series will be crafted by writer Greg Pak and illustrated by Eder Messias. Subsequent issues are scheduled for monthly release, with the first three already solicited and forthcoming issues set to arrive in comic book shops on November 26 and December 10, respectively. This exciting new chapter will see beloved characters Sam and Dean Winchester, portrayed by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, returning to confront new demons, ghosts, and monsters.

Dynamite’s Supernatural series will take place between the iconic first and second seasons of the television show, thereby transporting readers back to the roots of the series’ enchanting narrative. It also introduces a formidable new threat that the Winchester brothers must overcome before tracking down the demon who murdered their mother.

The premiere issue will feature the Winchesters uncovering the puppet master behind a string of mysterious fires plaguing a deteriorating Rust Belt town, starting with an inferno at the Windler Industries factory. Tensions rise when several Windler employees also succumb to flames, making the investigation into this supernatural arson a significant challenge for Sam and Dean. The second issue will follow the duo deeper into their hunt, as they raise funds for their quest by wagering their last remaining cash at a casino. When Sam befriends a sympathetic siren at the bar, her intentions could either turn their luck around for the better—or worse.

The December installment, which is the last one solicited at present, will plunge the brothers into a thrilling encounter with zombies. Set in a small town in Massachusetts, the Winchester brothers will join forces with a group of live-action role players who have narrowly escaped an attack that resulted in one of their own being taken. Determined to rescue their friend, the LARPers enlist the invaluable knowledge of the Winchester brothers.

Upon the series’ announcement in July, creators Greg Pak and Eder Messias expressed their enthusiasm for continuing the journey of this iconic television franchise. “Fans of Supernatural know the show is a blast, and it’s an enormous pleasure and privilege to be able to dig into this wild world, especially with Eder Messias,” Pak remarked. “We’re aiming for a fun yet grounded experience, with bursts of intensity when the narrative demands it.”

Messias added, “When I received the invitation to work on the Supernatural comic book series, I was ecstatic! It’s hands down my favorite television series. The show would air four consecutive episodes on Saturday nights here in Brazil, sparking animated conversations among friends about upcoming episodes throughout the week. I’m thrilled to bring this story to the fans and give it my all!”

Supernatural #1 will be available on October 29.
