2000AD and Judge Dredd Megazine Set to Resume Full American Distribution

2000AD & Judge Dredd Megazine Set to Resume Full American Distribution

The recent challenges faced by the comic distribution landscape—culminating in the bankruptcy of Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. and the decline of Ad Populum/Sparkle Pop’s services—have disrupted the availability of 2000AD and Judge Dredd Megazine in the USA. Previously, Diamond UK facilitated the distribution of these titles, which included weekly shipments packaged for comic shops. With this system now defunct, Rebellion Publishing has explored alternatives to ensure their offerings reach American audiences.

In a recent conversation on the Off Panel Podcast hosted by David Harper, Christine Merkler, co-owner of Lunar Distribution, expressed optimism about their revival efforts. “I talked to Rebellion today because we’re trying to work something out. We want 2000AD. We want Judge Dredd. And I told them, I said, ‘We finally are finding our footing again.'” This sentiment reflects Lunar’s commitment to enhancing their operational capabilities to accommodate weekly publications from the UK.

It is expected that full solicitations for Rebellion Publishing’s offerings will commence with the upcoming catalogue for March, likely arriving in the USA in April. Retailers and collectors should keep an eye out for these key updates, as they could potentially include missing back issues, allowing comic shops to realign their inventory with the anticipated demand from fans and collectors.
