Lara Croft collectors suddenly have an interesting decision to make.
McFarlane Toys has officially revealed its Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Lara Croft McFarlane Elite Edition figure, with pre-orders available now. The 7-inch scale figure is based on Lara’s appearance in the upcoming Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis video game.
The McFarlane Elite Edition is scheduled to ship in Q1 2027 and gives collectors another option for adding the legendary Tomb Raider protagonist to their shelves.

But McFarlane isn’t entering an empty tomb.
Hasbro’s Lara Croft Is Already Heading to Collectors
Hasbro recently brought Lara Croft into its 6-inch G.I. Joe Classified Series through its Tomb Raider collaboration.
Hasbro originally listed an approximate October 1, 2026 release/ship date, but some collectors are getting an early surprise. The figure is already being shipped in some cases ahead of Hasbro’s original October 1 estimate, meaning Hasbro’s Lara could be in collectors’ hands well before McFarlane’s version arrives in 2027.
The G.I. Joe Classified Series Lara Croft comes with an extensive selection of Tomb Raider-inspired accessories and uses the established Classified Series scale and articulation system, making her compatible with G.I. Joe Classified displays as well as many other 1:12-scale collections.

Which Lara Croft Is Worth Your Collecting Dollars?
That’s where things get interesting.Hasbro offers collectors a 6-inch Lara Croft that fits comfortably into the increasingly popular 1:12-scale action figure collection. More importantly, she is effectively arriving now for some customers, giving Hasbro a significant head start.
McFarlane is going bigger with its 7-inch Elite Edition, offering a Lara specifically based on her appearance in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. Collectors who prefer McFarlane’s larger scale, sculpting style and shelf presence may find that version more appealing, particularly if they’re excited about Lara’s new video game appearance.
For collectors choosing only one, scale, character design, articulation, accessories and display compatibility could ultimately be more important than which figure reaches shelves first.
Hasbro’s Lara offers the advantage of the established G.I. Joe Classified format and is already beginning to ship ahead of its estimated October 1 date. McFarlane’s Lara offers a larger interpretation tied directly to Legacy of Atlantis, but collectors will have to wait until 2027 to put her on the shelf.
Or, considering this is Lara Croft, some Tomb Raider fans may decide there’s room in the collection for both.
McFarlane says additional updates are coming at New York Comic Con, so collectors should get an even closer look at its Lara Croft soon.
Which version deserves your collecting dollars — Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Classified Lara Croft, McFarlane’s Elite Edition, or both?
