Practical Magic 2 conjured up a remarkable $30 million domestic debut, securing the No. 1 spot and ending Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s impressive six-week reign at the top. This romantic fantasy sequel reunites Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman nearly three decades after the original Practical Magic.
Despite falling to second place, Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues its record-breaking run, now just $1.5 million away from claiming the all-time domestic box office crown.
Christopher Nolan’s epic The Odyssey maintained a solid position at No. 3, crossing $600 million domestically and exceeding $1.6 billion worldwide. It has now become Universal’s highest-grossing film ever, marking another milestone in its impressive theatrical journey.
The weekend also marked a significant career achievement for Tom Holland. With the overwhelming success of Brand New Day and The Odyssey, along with his previous roles in the Spider-Man and Avengers franchises, he has officially become Hollywood’s highest-grossing actor of all time based on cumulative box office earnings.
Among the other new releases, the action comedy Runner, featuring Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson, opened in fourth place. The South Korean sci-fi thriller Hope landed at No. 8, while the historical action drama The Uprising, starring Andrew Garfield, completed the list of new releases in ninth.
