Celebrating Thirty Years of Painkiller Jane: A New Collection for Collectors

The upcoming Kickstarter campaign for Painkiller Jane: Uncovered marks a significant milestone for collectors and fans alike, encapsulating thirty years of a beloved character’s legacy.

Absolute Painkiller Jane - Thirteen Hours Left On Thirty Years

Painkiller Jane, a creation of Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada, first emerged in 1995 through Event Comics. The character, Jane Vasko, is a vigilante endowed with a controversial regenerative healing factor that not only brings her back from death but does so painfully. Jane made her debut in the 22 Brides series as an undercover officer infiltrating a crime syndicate, forging a path for her subsequent series. Over the years, she has interacted with prominent characters across various publishers, including The Punisher, Hellboy, Vampirella, and The Darkness. Her tenure includes publications by Event Comics, Dynamite, and Marvel, as well as adaptations in a 2005 TV movie starring Emmanuelle Vaugier and a 2007 Syfy series featuring Kristanna Loken.

In celebration of three decades of existence, the creative team of Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner, alongside PaperFilms, are launching a crowdfunding initiative for a collection titled Painkiller Jane: Uncovered. This limited edition 64-page one-shot aims to serve as a comprehensive tribute to the character’s history, presenting a curated selection of her most iconic cover images alongside newly commissioned artwork. The collection will feature contributions from notable artists including Joe Quesada, Amanda Conner, Sean Gordon Murphy, Tim Bradstreet, Peach Momoko, and many more.

Collectors can look forward to acquiring exclusive new limited variant covers created specifically for this Kickstarter campaign, with art by Amanda Conner, Peach Momoko, Sean Gordon Murphy, and Tim Bradstreet, enhancing the appeal for both seasoned fans and new collectors. As the campaign nears its end, with just thirteen hours remaining, the excitement surrounding Painkiller Jane’s legacy reflects both her enduring impact in the comic world and the potential market opportunities for premium collectible art.
